Join the Bridge Health & Wellbeing Race for Life 2024 Team and raise money for life-saving cancer research

May 13, 2024

Bridge Health & Wellbeing Race for Life Bournemouth team 2023After a successful debut at the Bournemouth Race for Life 2023, we are delighted to be taking part again in 2024. Whether you are walking, shuffling or jogging, we would love you to join us for this year’s event on Sunday 16th June.

In 2023, thanks to everyone’s incredible support, we raised an amazing £1,156 for Cancer Research UK. We also had great fun completing the event, along with so many other local people.

Did you know? 1 in 2 women will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime

For men, the statistic is 1 in 3. We’re passionate about supporting events like Race for Life 2024 Bournemouth, using physical activity to boost health and wellbeing and raise funds for such an important cause.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made, but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Every penny we raise can help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.

We’ll be walking, jogging, running … skipping, hopping, jumping … whatever it takes to complete our 5k on Sunday 16th June 2024. The Bournemouth course starts in front of the Seafront offices before taking you out 2.5km along the glorious seafront towards Boscombe Pier. The route turns around soon after and returns back along the seafront to the finish in front of the Seafront offices. On tarmac paths, 5k is an achievable distance and a good first challenge for most people. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to walk on average, but there’s no pressure to finish in a certain time.
