Thank you to everyone who came along to our Running Well evening. It was great to see so many people here discussing all things running.
Alexandra Sports were busy giving 3D assessments and 3D insoles using their 3D scanner and pressure mapping technology.
Alexandra Sports is the first running store in the UK to use FitStation, a revolutionary volumental scanner that accurately measures and produces a 3D image of your foot. Measuring length, width, volume and arch height helps determine which footwear and insole options are most suited for you. They also had a range of footwear and other running accessories on display for people to try.
Paul demonstrated the shockwave therapy machine
Shockwave therapy can be very effective for chronic soft tissue conditions like plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy. Stimulating the body’s natural healing process, it can deliver an immediate reduction of pain and improve ease of movement.
We also had the Pilates reformer out in the gym for visitors to get a taste of. The reformer is an amazing piece of kit, brilliant for building strength and flexibility. It can also really help with posture, coordination, and balance, which is useful for runners looking to address gait issues. More to come about the reformer soon!
It is always a pleasure to open the clinic doors and welcome people in to see how we can help with their health and wellbeing. Thanks again to Alexandra Sports for coming along to join the evening and offer even more advice and benefits for local runners.
