During 2023, we were delighted to support Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance as our charity for the year. Having treated several pilots and paramedics from Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance over the past few years, we were keen to do our bit to support this vital, life-saving local charity.
Relying completely on public support for funding, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset by the provision of an air ambulance, with an air and road-delivered critical care capability. Tasked as part of the ‘999’ emergency process, they operate 19 hours a day (7.00 am – 2.00 am), providing a critical care service using their AgustaWestland 169 (AW169) helicopter and critical care car. They also provide an enhanced care service across Dorset and Somerset using their outreach cars.
During the year, we had a collection box in the reception and held fundraising activities, including our Christmas raffle. By the end of the year, we had raised an amazing ££225.46, so thank you! The charity sent us this lovely certificate for some of the funds we had raised. When we added in the last collection box, we hit a grand total of £225.46.
This year, we are pleased to be supporting Chill Dorset as our charity for 2024. Chill Therapy Bournemouth is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing sea swimming courses as a form of therapy for adults with long-term mental or physical health conditions, including anxiety, depression and cancer. A collection box is already situated in reception, and we welcome any donations you are able to make throughout the year.
