Chill Dorset is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing sea swimming courses for people over 18 with any long-term health condition. Their friendly, supported cold water courses across Dorset are open to adult swimmers, including those managing mental and physical challenges such as anxiety, depression and cancer.
At Bridge Health & Wellbeing, we are proud to have supported Chill for the past few years, raising funds through events. Last year’s Beach Pilates & Sea Dip raised an incredible £750 which enables eight people to attend the course fully funded.
“We were keen to support a small, local charity which is making a difference to people right here in Christchurch. Chill operates from Avon Beach, which is just minutes from our clinic.
Thankfully, the sun shone on last year’s event, and we were delighted to see so many people attend. Everyone enjoyed the sunshine and Pilates on the sand, followed by a lovely sea dip with the Chill team and lifeguards, whole freely volunteered their time. We were very grateful to The Beach Hut Cafe, which also donated on the day, with tea and coffee money going directly to Chill.”
Louise O’Connell, Pilates teacher and co-founder of Bridge Health & Wellbeing
We’re hoping for more of that lovely sunshine we had last year as well, so put the date in your diaries and come along and join us.
